Last week we read Turk and Runt, a story about a family of turkeys that disguise themselves so they aren't chosen to be a holiday dinner. Below you will see all the disguised turkeys that families worked on together. We have some very creative turkeys.

Mr. Woodward showed the kids Ed Emberly monster books, which inspired these monster paintings. I think we have some creative talent in our class.

Jack and the Beanstalk STEM
After reading several versions of Jack and the Beanstalk, we drew Jack's beanstalk in our PLTW Launch Logs, then designed a better beanstalk. Once we had our design, we got to work making our better beanstalk with pipe cleaners. The person with the tallest beanstalk that would stand without anyone touching it or leaning it on anything, got a round of applause from the class. We are learning to have GRIT, which means we stick with it and don't give up. A few students got frustrated with their designs but they stayed the course!
